	First night of COMING HOME, OPUS I, featuring the Bolipata brothers, Jaime the pianist, Ramon the cellist, and Alfonso the violinist, together with pianists Rowena Sanchez Arrieta, Jovianney Emmanuel Cruz, and Raul Sunico, cellist Renata Lucas, and flutist Antonio Maigue. Concert date includes September 3, at Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo, CCP.
	Launching of new book PHILIPPINE GAY CULTURE: THE LAST THIRTY YEARS, written by Neil Garcia, published by UP Press. 5:00 PM at the Faculty Conference Hall, UP Diliman.

	Presentation of PAGSAMBA, a musical composition by UP Professor Emiritus Jose Maceda for religious ritual featuring ethnic musical instruments. Performed by 241 vocalists and instrumentalists, 5:00 PM at the Chapel of the Holy Sacrifice, UP Diliman.
September 6
	Opening of Tanghalan Pilipino's KALANTIAO, a play by Rene Villanueva, again, at the Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino, CCP. Morning shows at 10:30 AM are September 7, 14, 21. Matinee shows at 2:30 PM are September 8, 15, 22, 29. Evening shows at 8:00 PM are September 6, 13, 20, 27.
	Another of the series called A LITTLE NIGHT OF MUSIC, featuring Tadao Hayashi at the Alabang Town Center.
	First night of Puccini's MADAMA BUTTERFLY as presented by UP Theater, at 7:00 PM. In lieu of the Italian lyrics, Jonas Sebastian wrote Filipino lyrics for the Japanese characters, making the opera bilingual--Filipino and English. Show date includes September 7, 3:00 PM. Tickets available at SM and National Bookstore ticketrons.
September 8
	Reading of poetry and fiction by the PHILIPPINE LITERARY ARTS COUNCIL, at PowerBooks, Pasay Ave, Makati City. Includes a booksale and autographing session.
September 9
	Opening of SHOOTING STARS, FLEETING MOMENTS, an exhibit of ceramic sculpture by Shoko Mafune at the the Galleria Duemila, SM Megamall. Runs until September 30.
September 10
	Opening of Tanghalan Pilipino's PRINSIPE NG BUWAN, a two-act play dealing with the evils of society such as drug addiction, pollution, pornography, violence and superstition-based acts. Directed by Irma Adlawan, music by Nonong Buencamino, choroegraphy by Agnes Locsin, lighting design by Zaldy Baldelobar. Playdates include September 11, 17, 18, 24, 25, at the CCP.
September 12
	Opening of APOLOGIA NI SOCRATES, a dramatization of the great philosopher's defense against his Athenian accusers. Translated by Roque J. Ferriols, SJ from Plato's text. It will run for three weeks at the Rizal mini-theater, Ateneo de Manila University. For reservations, call 924-4801 local 2557.
	Opening of TRANSCENDENTAL VISION, the first major art exhibit of Katrina Miranda at Nemiranda Arthouse in SM Megamall. Runs until October 6.
September 13
	First night of TANGING YAMAN...HIMIG AT PANANALIG, a liturgical concert featuring the songs of Brother Manoling Francisco at the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo, CCP. Concert date includes September 14.

	Opening of the 7TH PHILIPPINE BOOKFAIR, at the Megatrade Hall, 5th level, Building B, SM Megamall. Hour are 10:00 AM to 7:30 PM, runs until September 22.
	Deadline for submission of entries to the 1996 SHELL NATIONAL STUDENTS ART COMPETETION, at Shell House, 156 Valero St, Salcedo Village, Makati City. Open to all college student-artists in oil/acrylic and watercolor categories.
