Performance of STING at the place-formerly-known-as-the- Ultra. This
is the first time Sting will hold a concert using his two hands. "I bloody
don't know how to do this," said Sting, wondering at how his two hands can
hold an entire concert. He adds, "I have never held a concert like this
before." During a press briefing in another country, he demonstrated how he
might clutch, grab, sieze, and grip his Manila concert. "It's so friggin
difficult," Sting commented after he got up from the floor and dusted his
cotton pants.
Asked if he was joking, Sting replied, "British singers never joke,"
then proceeded to recall his recent stint with John Cleese in New York.

Deadline for the submission of literary works to first issue of the
nouveau journal NOUVEAU, to be released in December 1996, featuring an
anthology of works by Filipino writers under the age of 35, titled "1998:
New Writings From the Philippines".
NOUVEAU's editors, Romulo Baquiran Jr, Jose Wendell Capili, Patrick
Flores, Ralph Galan, and Ariel Valerio, are inviting all published and
unpublished writers to submit poems, stories, essays, and plays in any
Philippine language, aside from English.
Entries must be submitted to Baquiran at the UP Sentro ng Wikang
Filipino, Faculty Center, UP Diliman, QC; to Capili at the Dept of English
and Comparative Literature, UP Diliman; or to Galan at the UP Creative
Writing Center, Faculty Center, UP Diliman, QC.
